First Game!

Today, after some hours in the woods, I got my first game! I am really happy. We are started in the morning, it was raining and that means, it is really loud and everytime you are thinking their is some deer around the next bush. After 2 hours I did a shot and got a deere. I was on the trail with my hunting teacher Dwight. He took me out in the woods and helped a lot to learn that part of American Culture this year. Thank you so much Dwight! Looking forward for the next meeting....

Time is running out

Today, Silke is doing her last day at the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Bristol. They are talking and helping young pregnant women. Really often people are calling for a abortion and they try to talk about a alternative way and not to kill a human life. They also have a lot of clothing for babies. I am proud of my wife, that she was volunteering there each Friday for one year.
During that time the last weeks, I am staying with Finn in the church office. Today it was buzy, people are calling and are coming to the office to have some information and I have to fold the bulletins. By the way Finn is changing the church office to a kindergarten, I tell you... and I am skyping with my brother Chris and Mom.

When Silke had time the last year, she was working on a quilt, you can see that on the second picture.

Last week, the company who is producing "Goodbye Germany" called again and theya are like to come back Monday and Tuesday...
After an awesome year here in Abingdon, everything is possible I guess.


Heute ist Silke das letzte mal nach Bristol zur Schwangerenkonfliktberatung gefahren. Dort helfen sie Schwangeren. Oft rufen sie an und fragen nach Informationen für eine Abtreibung. Silke und Co reden dann aber auch über die guten Alternativen die es gibt, keinen Menschen zu morden. Aber es wird nicht nur geredet dort. Sie haben auch eine Menge Babykleidung und Spielsachen, um praktisch zu helfen. Ich bin sehr stolz auf Silke, dass sie dort das Jahr über jeden Freitag dort mitgeholfen hat.
Während Silke in Bristol ist, bin ich die letzten Wochen mit Finn im Kirchenbüro. Heute waren wir gut beschäftigt. Leute rufen an oder kommen ins Büro um bestimmte Informationen zu haben und die Programme für Sonntag müssen gefaltet werden. Nebenbei modifiziert Finn das Büro zum Kinderzimmer, indem er eine Menge Spielsachen aus dem Kirchenkindergarten ins Büro schleppt und ich skype mit meinem Bruder Christoph und Mama.

Wenn Silke etwas Zeit hatte, hat sie das letzte Jahr gequilltet. Ein wenig davon könnt ihr auf dem zweiten Bild sehen.

Letzte Woche hat die Produktionsfirma von "Goodbye Deutschland" noch mal angerufen, sie würden gerne noch mal kommen, nächsten Montag und Dienstag. Nach einem unglaublichen Jahr in Abingdon halte ich alles für möglich.

Moonlite Theatre and Hunting - Autokino und Jagen

Last week, we enjoyed some american culture, drive-in movie theatre. Finn did a good job with sleeping during the movie in the trunk. Yes of course the trunk was close, but open to the passenger room.
Last Saturday I made my Savetycourse for the Hunting License. Since that time, I am staying a lot in the woods... it is a big challenge with a bow.

Letzte Woche haben wir noch ein wenig amerikanische Kultur kennengelernt, im Autokino. Finn hat während des Films gut im Kofferraum geschlafen. Selbstverständlich war der Kofferraum geschlossen - zum Fahrgastraum hin natürlich offen.
Letzten Samstag habe ich meinen Jagdschein gemacht und seitdem bin ich mehr im Wald anzutreffen als anderswo... mit Pfeil und Bogen eine ziemliche Herausforderung.

Special guests - Besondere Gäste

Tuesday, we had special guests, Bill and Alida. They are missionaries in Alaska and actualy they have their homeservice. So they drove the 5000 miles from Alaska to Virginia. We had just a great and blessed time. We met them in Alaska for few days, and at the Mission Conference in Michigan but they already realy good friends.

Am Dienstag hatten wir besondere Gäste, Bill und Alida. Sie sind Missionare in Alaska und haben gerade Heimataufenthalt. Sie sind die 8000 km mit dem Auto nach Virginia gefahren. Wir hatten eine großartige Zeit mit ihnen. Wir haben sie in Alaska für ein paar Tage kennengelernt und noch mal auf der Missionskonferenz in Michigan getroffen. Aber sie sind schon richtig gute Freunde geworden.

Truth Project
